Thanks Ignacio,
I was not aware of Kahan sums (just checked the Wikipedia entry, sounds interesting), we'll do some experiments with it.

Will do! We are finally doing something interesting with parameterizations in our current project and I hope we will be able to release that at some point.

I didn't avoid doubles for any particularly good reason, other than I tend to avoid them unless it proves to be necessary, but maybe this is one of those cases. On the other side I did use Kahan sums to compute dot products since in some cases I noticed that affected the output. Maybe switching to doubles would have achieved the same results.

No, it is not intentional, the whole OpenNL 3.0 package is now licensed under BSD, I'll fix the examples asap, thank you very much for noticing.

Thanks for the heads up!

@Bruno I was wondering if it is intentional that the examples you have made available still are GPL-licensed?

Hi Ignacio,
Thank you very much for the link to OpenNL, please tell me when
your own package is available, I'll add a link.
Cheers,
-- Bruno

P.S. I've seen that you are using single precision floating point number,
did you try with double precision ? From my own experience, it is faster for mesh parameterization (due to numerical precision and convergence speed of conjugate gradient).

I'm for "crazy metatemplate programming"... could you link that in your post? (At least for other Googler's.)
